Introducing our stunning Palace Pier yearling filly. Secured at Tattersalls Book 3 sales in October 2025 she was bought for 30,000 Guineas. She will be broken in and pretrained by Hugo Palmers ex assistant, Angie Shea before heading to Group 1 winning trainer Mick Appleby based in Oakham Physically she is a lovely filly who should definitely be competitive as a 2YO and will continue to improve, she is very well balance and strong. Her page is full of Black Type and she was purchased with the hope that if she can achieve Black Type she will provide owners with a lovely return on their investment. Her shares are now on sale and she represents great value! She is also GBB registered so can compete on those races with the GBB bonus available to owners.
How does the Basher Watts Racing Syndicate work?
Firslty you pay your upfront fee to own your share outright, with this filly the upfront cost is £390. You then pay a monthly fee of £40 per 1% to cover all of the costs associated with having a horse in training such as training, vets, entries, travel, gallop fees, farrier, physio, VAT, admin costs and the syndicate management fee (£850 per month).
Every month £4000 will go into this pot with hopefully prize money being added to it too. All of the costings are then deducted from the pot and at the end of each calendar year the remaining amount is divided and sent out to the owners relating to the size of their share. If £20,000 was remaining in the pot and you owned 10% you would receive £2,000 back etc.
With this syndicate you own your share outright which means you are entitled to your % of prize and you own the share until:
• You sell your share privately for whatever price you like (some lads sold for triple once shes perfect won on debut),
• The horse is sold, if the majority of the group decide we should sell you would get your % of the sale
• The horse is retired
Your share entitles you to:
• Your % of prize money
• Your % of any sale of the horse
• WhatsApp group with all the other owners, myself and the trainer
• A stable morning every 3-4 month where friends and family are welcome
• your chance to have an owners badge, anyone with 5% or more is given priority for an owners badge and provided with a BWR tie
In terms of owners badges, it differs from course to course but it is usually between 8-15. People in the syndicate are based all over the country and I’ve never had to turn anyone away who wanted a badge but if we were ever over subscribed those with 5%+ would get priority and the rest would be randomly selected.
Once you have come onboard you will be added to an owners WhatsApp group with all of the other owners and trainers, this was you’ll receive regular updates on the horse and be able to chat and make friends with the other owners. You’ll also receive a share certificate and an owners contract.

The cost to own a share in this beautiful daughter of Palace Piert, the price is £390 per 1% and then £480 in 2026 for all of the monthly costs. This is 12 monthly payments of £40 per 1% share, if you join the syndicate in February or March you would still need to cover the full 12 monthly payments so everyone has paid the same.
