Introducing My Mate AJ, the first ever national hunt horse of the Basher Watts Racing Syndicate.
He is a soldier of Fortune unraced 4YO Gelding. Who’s currently being pretrained by ex jockey Luca Morgan. He will be trained by top national hunt and grade 1 winning trainer Ben Pauling.
Ben brought him in May 2024 as a store horse and he has been with Luca being pre-trained for a good 5+ months now and is coming along really well and schools lovely. He’s looks like he will be a proper chaser and it’s so nice we can follow his journey from the very start.
He’s a big scopey sort who is very bum high, he has some growing to do to even out and strength up but he will be huge once he evens out and fills out his frame. Ben Pauling has always said the plan is for him to have a nice break in the summer and start his career in bumpers in the Autumn. We will work out a reduced payment schedule when he is on his summer break.
